Kids Project 1 - Indoor Tent

Last school holiday, actually, i tak ingat cuti tgh berlangsung and this year is Faiz 1st year at tabika. Last year he is at taska permata, it like taska base.. So cuti 1 week sahaja. This time he is following normal school break. Haduii.. Rasa bersalah sgt.. Bila dah nak hujung school holiday baru ingat nak plan something utk dia tapi dah too late. Luckily at that time my mom was at my sister's house and Faiz spend few days with her.. And few days at his tok ma and tok pa's house. Hope he enjoy the holiday. Masa tu just harap that i can repay him with something one day. But not with expensive thing.. Hehehe.. So, I do some study, i think i found something that will make him happy.. Last time i bought this from ikea.. Tapi masa tu stay kat rumah flat, rumah kecik so, main kejap je.. Bila dah bukak, ada la part missing bila nak pasang balik. So this time i'm not going to buy anymore.. DIY will do.. So, the plan is to make an indoor tent for him and adik..  Last week, we discuss and make a plan.. Check on the tools and supply we have. Hubby think of using plastic pipe since we already have half of what we need.

So, this is the design. The design very simple, save cost.. If you want to spend more i think you can improve the design. But this is just enough for us. hihihi.. What we need is high quality plastic pipe with measurement and the joints part below:

4 x 2 ft

4 x 3 ft 

1 x 4 ft

2 T joint

4 L joint

We have decided to use 25mm PVC pipe with thick wall for structure strength vs cost effective.smaller size will compromise the structure integrity.usually any PVC pipe in hardware shop original length is 20 feet.and it is much cheaper to buy it as a single 20 feet length pvc pipe rather than buying in shorter length. Smaller size pipe will be cheaper.u can decide.

So, this is what we need.. Cost about RM28 not include the pipe that we already have. I think if you start from 0, all together is around RM40.

It's like doing puzzle, so we involve Faiz and let him built the structure

With little help from hubby, the tent structure was successfully built.

Mummy look for the bedsheet and blanket... Hahaha.. Budget betul.. I hope this is for temporary. I have something in mind that i can do for next DIY project to improve the tent cover. Yea.. I need to use the blanket and bedsheet anyway.. Hahaha.. Tapi ape pon both of them enjoy staying at their new tent. 

That night, at the 1st time, Faiz tido sendiri dgn sukarela.. Bagus jugak benda ni.. Hahaha

Last sunday, keluar jln2 ke ace hardware to find something for our DIY project.. and found something for his tent..

Battery operated light.. Using 2 batteries with size D for RM15.00. I thought of doing something DIY, but, thinking of safety, i think this is good enough.

Hang it in the tent and switch off the room light. Enjoy the camping moment.. Hihihi

Restaurant Food 1 - Laksa Katong

Setelah pindah, nak mkn kat luar agak jauh.. bagus sebb kami pon memang kena menabung semula.. tapi memang niat kami setelah pindah nak kurangkan mkn diluar.sekarang ni byk sgt issue2 mkn halal yg diragui.. bhn kimia, kedai kotor dan mcm2 hal lagi.. jadi eloklah utk kurangkan mkn di luar.

suasana kat sini pon memang boleh buat mood malas nak keluar.. gaya kampung.. so, setelah sekian lama asyik mkn kat luar je.. nak2 dulu, jgk kepala kat tingkap dah nampak indon masak kat luar tu.. jerit je mintak dia hantarkan.. nak start masak pon kekok2 je.. that me lah.. tapi my hubby tu biasa je.. sentiasa je confident.. lepas la untuk kami mkn.

Bila kat rumah ni, kami tajamkan semula ilmu kulinari kami nih.. tak kan nak mkn nasi telur goreng ngn sardin je kan.. sebb dah tak keluar mkn kat luar tu.. mula lah teringin nak makan tu nak makan ni.. both of us memang boleh masak.. so, kami selalu gilir2.. tak pon sorg masak satu masakan after that mkn sama.. nak2 bila teringin makan makanan yg berlainan.. tak da hal nya lah..

One of my hubby's favourite food is katong laksa.. biasanya kalau mkn kat Pak Li tu memang sbb teman dia mkn katong laksalah.. kat Pak Li tak de my faveret food pon.. habis2 pon toast or bubur ayam and honey green tea .. bila pindah ni.. malas la nak pegi sana kan.. lagi pon.. katong laksa kat Pak Li dlm RM8.90 kalau tak silap, kalau satu family mkn, biasa habis dlm RM40++.. Cuba eh masak sendiri..

Resepinye senang je.. memang lepas mkn ni tak payah dah pergi Pak Li.. tehehe

1 biji bawang kuning

3 biji bawang besar

5 ulas bawang putih

1/2 cup ikan bilis

1/2 cup udang geragau

1/2 cup udang kering

1/2 inci lengkuas

2 batang serai

5 biji buah keras

1/2 inci kunyit hidup

5 sudu besar cili giling

garam sekucup

Bland semua bahan. Bahan2 dia atas ni boleh mkn satu rumah. kalau anda hanya 2 atau 3 org sahaja, buat separuh sahaja dari bahan diatas.

Tumis bahan tadi sampai pecah minyak. Jadi paste mcm gambar diatas. frozen kalau lebih byk sgt utk kesenangan kemudian hari.. hihihi

Masukkan santan, udang, tauhu kering dan daun kesum dan garam secukupnya sehingga masak.

Sediakan laksa, boleh menggunakan laksa kering atau laksa basah dan telur rebus.

Kuah dah siap, laksa dah ada. Letakkan laksa, taugeh dan telur tebus ke dalam mangkuk. Tuang kuah katong secukupnya. Siap!!

Dekat rumah kami ni, kalau setakat serai, daun kesum, cili kunyit tu tak payah beli dah.. Rasa2nya lah, dgn bahan yg simple mcm ni, berapa kos dia..buat teh o satu balang.. mkn satu keluarga.. nak tahu berapa kos? Pricelessss :)
